BellSoft and IFT Group Partner to Help Indonesian Enterprises Secure and Modernize Java Systems

Jakarta, Indonesia (October 5, 2026), BellSoft, a leading U.S.-based OpenJDK vendor, is strengthening its presence in Indonesia through a strategic collaboration with local technology company IFT Group. Together, the companies will help Indonesian enterprises modernize and secure mission-critical Java applications and prepare them for cloud and AI-driven business. The partnership comes as Indonesia recorded 5.5 billion cyberattacks in 2025, according to the Presidential Staff Office.

BellSoft is one of the top contributors to OpenJDK, with engineers who have worked on Java since the Sun Microsystems era. As a member of the Java Community Process Executive Committee and the OpenJDK Vulnerability Group, BellSoft takes part in decisions on how Java evolves. Its Liberica JDK is the Java runtime recommended by Spring and used by thousands of enterprises worldwide.

The collaboration combines BellSoft’s deep expertise in Java and OpenJDK with IFT Group’s enterprise technology, system integration, consulting and local market capabilities.

Growing in Indonesia with a Local Partner

“BellSoft is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, building on our work with major enterprises across the region. Indonesia is a strategic market for us: its scale, digital growth, and large enterprise sector create strong demand for secure and reliable Java infrastructure,” said Alex Belokrylov, Co-Founder and CEO of BellSoft.

“By combining BellSoft’s technology and engineering expertise with the capabilities of IFT Group as a local partner, we aim to build a long-term presence in the Indonesian market.”

Modernizing Indonesia’s Enterprise Java Landscape

Java continues to power many mission-critical enterprise applications around the world, and Indonesia is no exception. Banks, telecom operators and public institutions rely on Java for core systems. These organizations now face rising regulatory expectations and growing pressure to secure their software supply chains. Liberica JDK helps enterprises keep their Java systems current as requirements change and threats evolve.

BellSoft’s portfolio is built around three pillars that matter most to enterprises running Java at scale: licensing, security and efficiency. On licensing, support comes with stable, transparent pricing and clear terms, at a time when Java licensing across the market has become harder to predict. On security, BellSoft delivers regular critical patch updates and hardened, zero-CVE container images. On efficiency, Liberica JDK Lite and the container images built on it use up to 30% less memory and disk space, which directly lowers cloud bills. Liberica JDK Performance Edition  adds 10–15% better performance for existing applications built for Java 8 or 11 by running them on a JDK 21-based JVM, with no code migration.

Through the collaboration, BellSoft and IFT Group will focus on Java modernization, enterprise Java support, performance optimization, and cloud and container environments.

Building Local Capability

For IFT Group, the collaboration is also about bringing global technology expertise closer to Indonesian enterprises while developing stronger local technical capabilities.

“Many of Indonesia’s most important enterprise systems are built on Java. Our collaboration with BellSoft gives us an opportunity not only to bring world-class Java technology to Indonesia, but also to build local expertise around it,” said Arifa Tan, Founder of IFT Group.

“We want Indonesian enterprises to have access to secure, efficient and modern Java technology while preparing their technology foundation for cloud and AI transformation.”

Securing Java in the AI Era

As Indonesian organizations accelerate digital and AI transformation, the security of the underlying technology stack matters more than ever. AI helps attackers find and exploit vulnerabilities faster, and much of that risk now enters through the software supply chain. According to Omdia, 77% of organizations have experienced a supply chain incident.

“AI doesn’t create new security problems. It multiplies the old ones at machine speed,” said Belokrylov. “Most enterprise software today is assembled from open-source components rather than written from scratch, so security starts with what you let in.”

BellSoft addresses this at the foundation of the Java stack. A Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) shows exactly what each build contains, minimal base images built on Alpaquita Linux ® ️ reduce the attack surface, and Liberica JDK keeps receiving security fixes, including for Java versions other vendors no longer patch. Through IFT Group, Indonesian organizations can access this technology and expertise with local support.

For both companies, the objective goes beyond implementing another technology platform.

It is about building a stronger technology foundation for Indonesia’s next stage of digital growth.
