Role Summary

As a Linux TestOps Engineer, you will maintain and enhance the Alpaquita Linux distribution by integrating new open-source component releases, developing compatibility patches, and creating apk packages. You will support product quality, build and maintain QA processes, and develop infrastructure automation and tooling to support release cycles across multiple Alpaquita Linux releases, platforms, features, and security patches.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the Alpaquita Linux distribution up-to-date with new open-source component releases and develop compatibility patches for open-source components.Create and maintain apk Linux packages.Support the quality of Alpaquita Linux products and components, and build and maintain the QA process.Develop infrastructure automation and tooling to support release cycles of Alpaquita Linux and quality assurance.Support multiple Alpaquita Linux releases, including new platforms, features, and security patches.Manage the product build environment, both on-premise and in the cloud.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Advanced experience working with a Linux or other Unix-like distribution (Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Alpine Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc.).
• Experience with scripting languages (such as Bash, Python, Ruby) and C.
• Experience with CI tools (such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Atlassian).
• Experience with Git or Mercurial.
• Computer networking basics.
• Intermediate English level or higher.

Preferred

• Relevant work experience as a Linux package maintainer, Release Engineer, Software Tester, or DevOps engineer.
